TO EXPLORE PERSONAL ANIMAL ENCOUNTERS--Adults

Join artist Gina Litherland (WI), whose art is included in Animal Instinct, in this unique mixed-media workshop. Combine text and image to tell a personal animal story. Bring a brief story (even a sentence is enough!) of a beloved pet, an encounter with a wild animal, even a favorite animal poem or fairy tale. The day will begin with an overview of Litherland's own art and a discussion of mixed-media works by William Blake, Kenneth Patchen, Lynda Barry, and others. Bring a sketchpad and an electric hairdryer (to speed up the drying process). A variety of drawing and collage materials will be provided.
