April
Gallery Night 2016 will be a special occasion at J Nikolai Art! I am
excited to collaborate with poet Kavon Cortez Jones, aka KJ Prodigy, who
will perform his anthology, illustrated by me, in public for the first
time. Join us at a reception on Gallery Night, Friday, April 15 from 5-9pm. KJ will perform the anthology and two other pieces at 7:00pm. See the colorful interpretation of KJ's words, created by yours truly.
KJ
Prodigy performs his works with energy and character. He is highly
expressive and creative, seeking to surprise and engage audiences. KJ states: “I am (a) Harambee-Milwaukee home-grown performance artist of avant-garde poetry.”
My
newest paintings will be exhibited as well. I am a Milwaukee artist,
working in watercolor, acrylics and mixed media. My current body of
work, Cabled Together, focuses on the frequently overlooked power lines, cables and wires that support us, divide our space and change our landscape.
My studio also features ceramics by Randall Becker, an established, nationally known and highly regarded ceramic artist from Mazomanie, WI.
