Exhibits

“Drawing the Town: Works by Marcia Milner-Brage" is on display through March 31 at the Hearst Center for the Arts in Cedar Falls, IA (USA).

Over the past 2 1/2 years, Marcia - a member of USK Midwest - has drawn more than 200 scenes (like the one at left) in and around Cedar Falls and Waterloo with approximately 36 framed pieces in the show.

USK Memphis has a group exhibit at that wraps up this week at Askew Nixon Ferguson Architects in Memphis, TN (USA). Each artist got part of a wall to display his or her works, and guests can also peruse the artists' sketchbooks as part of the exhibit.

New Urban Sketching Book

A new how-to book (below) on sketching is now available.  Sketching on Location was written by USK Board Member and Moscow, ID (USA) USK Correspondent Matthew Brehm and is a "comprehensive guide to drawing from direct observation ... perfect for those who would like to record their visual experiences of where they live and where they travel."
Matt is an Associate Professor of Architecture at the University of Idaho and has been teaching university-level courses and public workshops on sketching for over a decade
