ART MKE Receives 2013 Joyce Award! On February 4th, The Joyce Foundation announced Art Milwaukee as one of the four recipients of the 2013 Joyce Awards. This prestigious award is granted to artists and nonprofit organizations based on the merit of their artistic idea, quality of work, and an artistic process that offers opportunities for innovative community interaction. Art Milwaukee in partnership with local artist Reginald Baylor will receive $50,000 in support of their project, TypeFace, from The Joyce Foundation to help in the process of engaging people in its creation. Angelique Power, Joyce Foundation Culture Senior Program Officer, will be hosting a series of information sessions in four cities to meet with interested artists, nonprofit leaders and grant seekers to talk about the program and answer any questions. The Milwaukee Info Session will be held in the Art Milwaukee Offices on Feb. 12 from Noon until 1:30. Lunch will be provided. Click here to find additional information about the upcoming sessions.
