The Impressionist Vision: An American Impressionism Oil Painting Workshop

In the late 19th century a number of American painters adopted the style and working methods of the French Impressionists, revolutionary in its bright sketchy brushwork as well as unconventional compositions and subject matter. Working both at home and abroad, these American artists created an astonishing range of truly inspired works from sun splashed seasonal landscapes to vigorous bustling cityscapes and intimate interior scenes depicting domestic tranquility.

Paint along with James as we explore in depth
some seminal works from key artists of the movement to discover the process and procedures used to create a variety of atmospheric effects of light and space.

Everyone has had a great time at all of our past all-day intensive painting workshops.
