RAM's From the Heart Virtual Community Art Show 7/7-10/4/20

RAM and Wustum are happy to announce the opening of From the Heart: RAM Virtual Community Art Show—the museums' inaugural online exhibition.
The online exhibition features 105 artists from around the world who submitted 103 works created during the global health crisis of 2020. Artists were able to submit images of artwork addressing any subject, as long as the artwork was created in the first part of 2020. Whether turning to prevailing social and cultural issues or using art as an outlet to focus energy and concentration, these artists underscore the value of the creative process.
You are invited to vote on your favorite pieces throughout the official run of the exhibition, July 7 – October 4. The three artists whose artworks are voted as Audience Favorites will receive gift certificates for free studio art classes.

Wealth of Nature Featured photographer: Danielle (Dana) Kornitz

May 31, 2020

Introduction by Eddee Daniel
I first learned of Dana’s work when a stunning image of an eagle in flight showed up in my Instagram feed. Making it even more enticing, the image was shot in Lincoln Park, right here in the Milwaukee River Greenway. Clicking “follow” then led to a daily treat of local wildlife, among other lovely things. Here is a small example of what Dana posts each day…

Milwaukee Sketch Club Winter Indoor Live Model Sketching Sessions canceled until 2021 due to Coronavirus

From: Thomas Piedt <piedt1@yahoo.com>
Hi Everyone

I hope this email finds all the members, family and friends safe during these difficult times.
Per Wednesday's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Anthony Fauci, (director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases) indicated the U.S. handle on coronavirus is “really not good “ and that action is needed to curb the spread  - “We are still knee deep in the first wave of this”.  There are also warnings the coronavirus cases could surge higher in the colder months.

As most of our members appear to be included in the high-risk category regarding COVID -19, As a precautionary measure Art and I have decided the sketch club will not meet (September 2020 through December 2020) during this pandemic.  Whether the sketch club will meet in January will be considered down the road.

Art and I  wish you all the best and stay safe.

The Art of Self Critique by Angela Fehr

"Learning how to critique your own work lets you coat yourself to better paintings without being overly dependent on outside praise, or devastated by criticism. This guide will help you examine different aspects of your work and allow you to learn from each piece in a way that will help you figure out what step to take, what experiment you want to try or what direction you want to move next......"

Milwaukee Sketch Club at Seven Bridges 7/17/20

We're back to following the updated summer schedule along with starting at 8:30A.M. due to the heat: http://milwaukeesketchclub.blogspot.com/p/schedules.html

Last week we got rained out. Next Friday we are going to Muskego Historical Park.

Seven bridges is quite scenic with nice, friendly people. A few mosquitoes but the breeze kept them away so not worth getting the bug spray out.

Milwaukee Sketch Club at Calhoun Park 7/3/2020

Didn't paint previous week due to thunderstorms.

Many artists came this Friday despite the 4th of July weekend.

We started at 8:30 to avoid the worse of the heat and stayed in the shade. Looks like it's going to be hot again next Friday so plan to go to 7 bridges instead of downtown Greendale.
