Artist Talk

Darron Lillian
is a plein air artist with a keen eye for composition whose rough
texture and loose, individual strokes capture the immediacy of the
moment. His artwork depicts the everyday landmarks of Wisconsin’s back
roads and byways.
In contrast, Colette Odya Smith often eschews the use
of the horizon line in her landscapes focusing instead on light
filtering through trees and reflections on the water. Colette creates
natural sanctuaries that are both realistic and otherworldly.
Together,
they show their work at MOWA on the Lake at Saint John's On The Lake July 23–October 7.
