This is a reminder for my 2 live model portrait workshops this Friday
April 18th, and Monday, April 21. Please let me know if you're able to
attend, and I'll forward you the materials list. After this I'll be
travelling to Fl for a national plein air invitational event and won't
be offering many indoor workshops over the summer plein air painting
season.
I hope those of you who have expressed interest and still haven't been able to attend will be able to join us Friday or Monday!
Thank you,
James

Portraits From Life- Paint, Pastel, or Charcoal
In this all day workshop we will explore using direct painting and drawing methods to rapidly create accurate and vital portraits working from a live model. Students may choose create their artwork in oils or acrylics, pastels or charcoal. All experience levels are welcome.
We will cover the process step by step, beginning with the quick establishment of a foundation of accurate proportions and key anchor points. We will then proceed piece by piece, seeing and painting the nuanced qualities of value and edge in the interlocking mosaic of shapes that build the forms that create an accurate likeness of the model. Seeing and mixing colors for skin tones, hair, and clothing will be covered in detail for those working in paint or pastels.
When: 2 Sessions-
