The Impressionist Vision: American Impressionism

An All- Day Painting Workshop

In the late 19th century a number of American painters adopted the style and working methods of the French Impressionists, revolutionary in its bright sketchy brushwork as well as unconventional compositions and every day subject matter. Working both at home and abroad, these American artists created an astonishing range of truly inspired works from sun splashed seasonal landscapes and vigorous bustling cityscapes to tranquil intimate domestic scenes..

Paint along with James as we explore in depth some seminal works from key artists of the movement to discover the process and procedures used to create paintings alive with a variety of atmospheric effects of color, light, and space.

We have had a great time at our past all-day intensive painting workshops,
(A little art history-A lot of painting)
