Hi all,

I'm hoping everyone had a wonderful Christmas and wishes for a fruitful and art filled new year.

2014 is beginning with some very exciting events which I strongly encourage you to take part in.

First is our upcoming membership meeting at Artist and Display, next Wednesday, January 8th from 6:30-8:15 pm.
We are featuring a demonstration by local artist Beki Borman. Beki has experience with many mediums and has exhibited locally and nationally.
She will be speaking specifically about pastels for this demo.

Secondly, there is still space available for our two day workshop featuring nationally acclaimed pastel artist Colette Odya-Smith.
I strongly recommend, if you can, to take advantage of this incredible opportunity to learn from a recognized pastel artist and member of the Masters Circle of the International Association of Pastel Societies.
We are able to offer this two day workshop for the very low fee of $100.00. I know this is still a large sum, however, it is far less than than you would pay for a workshop with Colette.
We extend our thanks to Colette for keeping her price affordable for our members. For more information please visit our blogsite http://wisconsinpastelartists.blogspot.com or contact Suzanne Manthe.
The workshop dates are Friday, February 7 and Saturday, February 8. You must be able to attend both days. The deadline for signing up for this workshop is January 10, 2014

Third, please remember to support members of our group accepted to exhibit at the Museum of Wisconsin Art (MOWA) in West Bend, WI.
This is a great honor to be asked to exhibit at the museum and is also great exposure for the Wisconsin Pastel Artists.
The show runs from January 17 through April 6, 2014. Please come to the opening reception Thursday, February 6 from 5-9pm.

Also, please remember to renew your membership for $25.00 before January 31. After January 31 the fee will be $30. You can renew at our meeting this Wednesday.
We want to encourage everyone to stay current with their membership dues so we can continue to plan and bring you high quality presentations, workshops, and exhibit opportunities.
Your timely renewal allows us to better plan for future events. I would also ask you to encourage others to join our group.

As always, please feel free to contact me anytime with concerns and suggestions,

Your president,
Chris Behrs
