“Seeing the World, One Drawing at a Time: Urban Sketchers” showcases 90 art works by 38 Urban Sketchers international contributors at the Ackland Museum Store through October 6, 2012. While various local Urban Sketchers groups have held exhibitions, the Ackland Museum Store’s show is the first time in the organization's history that sketches from correspondents around the world have been brought together and shown at a single venue. Thanks to USK Correspondent Laura Murphy Frankstone. who curated our first group show.

Urban Sketching in the News

"Sense of Place" is a new feature in the Press Democrat. Every other Sunday, Richard Sheppard’s sketches - along with a brief story - are now being featured in the "Towns" section of this Sonoma County California newspaper (at right). The column will be published online and in the print edition. You can view Richard's inaugural column here.
The digital arts magazine Tribe published a spread of San Francisco sketches by past USK Correspondent Matt Jones. Matt’s sketchers are available to view freely here.
One of the Santo Domingo TV stations produced a great report on the Third International Urban Sketching Symposium. Click here to watch the video on YouTube. A full view of the symposium can be seen on the symposium blog.
