The organizers of Rendez Vous Du Carnet de Voyage, a Travel Sketchbook festival that takes place every November in the French city of Clermont-Ferrand, invited four Urban Sketchers to draw the panoramic domes and landscapes of Puy-de-Dome in July. Thanks to Emdé, Lapin, Gérard Michel and Luis Ruiz
(Gérard and Luiz pictured right) for representing USK! The public will
be able to view this exhibition during the Rendez-vous du Carnet de
Voyage, November 16 - 18, 2012.“Seeing the World, One Drawing at a Time: Urban Sketchers” showcases 90 art works by 38 Urban Sketchers international contributors at the Ackland Museum Store through October 6, 2012. While various local Urban Sketchers groups have held exhibitions, the Ackland Museum Store’s show is the first time in the organization's history that sketches from correspondents around the world have been brought together and shown at a single venue. Thanks to USK Correspondent Laura Murphy Frankstone. who curated our first group show.

e Urban Sketchers, Urban Sketchers Portland and the Whidbey Island Sketchers converged on Tacoma, WA USA for the first (hopefully of many) Pacific Northwest Regional Sketchcrawl. More than 30 sketchers captured the sights in and around Tacoma’s Museum District.Urban Sketching in the News
The
BBC invited 20 artists to provide their interpretation of the Thames
Diamond Jubilee Pageant from the Millennium Bridge in London. The poor
weather forced many to adapt and even abandon their work halfway
through, but here the BBC presents a beautiful selection of their work. Florian Alexander Schmidt, a student at The Royal College of Art, chose to draw faces from the crowd and many of his fellow artists (at left). 
"Sense of Place" is a new feature in the Press Democrat. Every other Sunday, Richard Sheppard’s sketches - along with a brief story - are now being featured in the "Towns" section of this Sonoma County California newspaper (at right). The column will be published online and in the print edition. You can view Richard's inaugural column here.
The digital arts magazine Tribe published a spread of San Francisco sketches by past USK Correspondent Matt Jones. Matt’s sketchers are available to view freely here.
