Art Camp: 2012 Glass Attack
- July 24-26  10-11:30am
Join us for a "glass attack" as we explore art and illustration using glass as our medium. We will discover ways of creating art projects with glass-fusing, mosaics, painting on glass and more. Inspiration for this fun-filled week will come from our exhibition, Kitchen Dreams by Ricky Bernstein.
We still have room for ages 3 to 4 with an adult.

It's All About BalanceRicky Bernstein's Kitchen Dreams
Open Now through September 2, 2012

Bring the whole family and step into a comical world of 1950's pop culture with Ricky Bernstein's Kitchen Dreams. Using glass, aluminum and childhood memories, artist Ricky Bernstein pieces together everyday life through a caricature of social roles and cultural icons.  Bernstein's life-sized collages animate a bold, bright, somewhat surreal world, bound to bring you a good belly laugh.

This exhibition is sponsored in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the state of Wisconsin and The National Endowment For The Arts. Top
 Questions for the Curator
Visitors often ask,  What is the most rare piece in your collection?
The museum has many unique objects in its four glass collections. One such object believed to be a one-of-a-kind is this butterfly paperweight.  It is innovative and creative, using millefiori canes to create the wings of the butterfly. We believe this weight was created between 1845 and 1855 by the Clichy factory north of Paris, France.
