Celebrates its 10th Opening With Free Admission

Renaissance Garden Opening Sunday June 3, 2012

Come help us celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Renaissance Garden's opening with free admission from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Festivities include a musical kick-off by the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music Jazz Students and Fair Winds Navy Band Great Lakes, opening ceremony, garden tours, A Chair to Remember auction preview and more!

Sunday, June 3 also marks the opening of Cafe Sopra Mare's Summer Music Season. Weekly every Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Villa Terrace's Mercury Courtyard. Cafe is free and open to the public. Coffee and bakery items available for purchase from Bella's Cafe. Music begins at 10:30 a.m. Schedule and more information available at www.villaterracemuseum.org.

Shared Visions: A Poetry Reading and Presentation on Poetry and the Visual Arts

A special evening with renowned poet Ingrid Wendt who will be reading from her five-volume body of work and giving a presentation on collaborations between poets and visual artists. Her husband, Pulizer Prize-nominated poet Ralph Salisbury, will also make an apperance. This one hour program at the Villa Terrace is through a partnership with Woodland Pattern Bookcenter, who is hosting a reading by Ralph Salisbury on Saturday, June 2, 2012

Curtain at 7:30 p.m.
The World's Stage Theatre Company will perform scenes from Shakespeare in the Villa's Great Hall. Featuring 11 sonnets, 10 scenes, and just as many actors Desire is Death will take you on a journey through the complicated experience of human relationships.

Admission $12 / Seniors & Students $10
Artists Special: Artists who come and sketch the performance on Tuesday, June 12 get in for $5
