Plein Air Outing at Hillview & Hartwig Farm Thursday 4/28 at 2:30

From Hy 43 and Hy 83, North on Hy 83 one block. Turn right at the stoplight (Holz Parkway) Turn right onto Hy ES to just past the gas station. Turn left onto Hillview (white farm house on the corner) and just over the crest of the hill, turn left onto Hartwig. First house on your right.
From Hy 83 south to Hy NN. Left (east) onto Hy NN to ES. Left onto HY ES to just past the gas station. Turn left onto Hillview (white farm house on the corner). Just over crest of the hill, left onto Hartwig, first house on your right.

Milwaukee Sketch Club at Vernon Marsh just down Frog Alley




Excellent weather. The parking lot was blocked off so we just parked along the side of the road and painted there.

Frog Alley Plein Air Outing Thursday 4/22/10 at 2:30pm

Tomorrow we will be going to Frog Alley to paint. A wonderful view looking east into the Vernon Marsh at a boat launch. It is a beautiful view.
Directions:
  • From Hy I43, turn north onto Hy 83 past the Pick N Save about one mile.
  • Turn right onto Frog Alley (on the right is Sugdan Rd) and drive to the end of the road. Park in the parking lot or go to the higher parking lot overlooking the marsh.
  • From Hy 83 and Saylesville Rd.
  • South onto (left) Hy 83 past Hy I. I think it is your first main road (not subdivision road) on your left, about one mile.
  • Left onto Frog Alley (on your right is Sugden Road) & go to the end and park.
I hope it is not as windy as last week.

Still Life "paint along with Jim" workshop Friday 4/23/10

Jim Hempel is offering a Still Life "paint along with Jim" workshop Friday 4/23 at his studio from 10am - 4pm. You will study the foundations of the painting process through close observation and copy of working methods from several master painters of the genre. Falcon View Estates Plein Air Outing April 15 at 2:30pm

This week we will be going to Falcon View Estates, a beautiful overlook of the Vernon Marsh.
From Hy I43 & Hy 83.
  • Exit I43 at Hy 83, turn right onto Hy 83 go one block,
  • turn right onto Holz Parkway to the stoplight at Hy ES.
  • Turn right (east) onto Hy ES, drive past the gas station on the right.
  • Turn left at the 2nd street, Hillview (there is a big white farmhouse on your left). Hillview road turns 4 times, and at that point you will see a very straight Hillview.
  • At the next turn you will see a small road going up the hill (still going straight). Go to the top and find a place to park for your view.
From Hy 83 and Hy NN,

Fred Bell Painting classes start April 15

He has two painting classes starting next week on April 15, 2010. One on Thursdays at 10am, the other on Thursday evenings at 6:30. The cost is $90. for six classes.

Plein Air Survey for upcoming Summer Schedule

Hi, Summer is just around the corner and I will be putting together our Plein Air Outing Schedule. Please respond by April 30, 2010.
  • Please let me know where you'd like to go. (Feel free to suggest new places)
  • Let me know if you're interested in Tuesday mornings, Tuesday evenings, Thursday afternoons and/or
  • Saturday mornings.
If you'd like to be removed from the list, please let me know that too.

  • Tuesday mornings at 9am (& possibly Tuesday evenings if anyone is interested)
  • Thursday afternoons in Mukwonago area starting at 2:30pm
  • Saturday mornings at 9am
