Milwaukee Sketch Club at Starbucks 10/19/18

Just two of us this week.

Yes, we were here last week, but we really like the ambience, large tables, and space there.

Next Friday we are thinking of going to San Laurio Coffeehouse in Muskego.

Milwaukee Sketch Club at Starbucks 10/12/18

Too cold for Wadewitz. Brr! So went to Starbucks.

Hope next week is at least 50 F and sunny so we can hopefully paint some Fall colors at 7 bridges.

Directions:
The address listed for the bridges in Grant Park ( 100 E Hawthorne Ave) goes to the golf club house. From there drive North PAST sections 5&6 to a small parking area on the right. That is the entrance to the bridges. If you park in the lot in Section 5&6, the entrance to the bridges is behind the pavilion( kinda hard to spot).

Or
Take college ave to end, Turn right into park? (at second entrance? by traffic light?) Bridges are on your left.

Milwaukee Sketch Club at Crossover in Waterford 10/5/18

Got rained out so went and sketched in Crossover Cantina and Eatery, 28023 Kramer Rd, Waterford, WI 53185. Very nice place.

Going to try to go to Wadewitz next Friday at 9am

We decided that our alternative default location for rain will be Starbucks, 4741 S 76th St in Greenfield, just south of Layton on the west side of 76th street near Kopps.

Hopefully we will get to paint outside a couple more times this year before it snows.

Advice for aspiring artists by Mike Svob

from: mikesvob@gmail.com

Hi,
My name is Mike Svob.
Since 1982, I have been a full-time artist based in Vancouver, Canada. I am the author of "Paint Red Hot Landscapes That Sell” and a former president of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Over the past 30 years, I have shared my skills and love for painting via workshops across North America and Europe. Through these workshops, I have taught and mentored hundreds of artists at different stages in their development.

This Winter, I am embarking on a new and exciting project - an online course for acrylic painters of all skill levels. You can get a taste of the course and my teaching style on my new YouTube Channel where I share painting tips, techniques, and business advice on a weekly basis.

If you feel that this opportunity would be well received by the members of Milwaukee Sketch Club, I encourage you to sign up here for updates and additional information.

When I was the President of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA), we constantly struggled to get quality resource materials to share with our members. I have written three articles for beginner, intermediate and advanced painters that I am happy to share with your members. Feel free to access them here.

Thanks for your time. I look forward to the prospect of working with Milwaukee Sketch Club!
Best regards,
Mike Svob
