Painting in the Winter Muse exhibit 1/25-3/19/17

Get outside and play!

You've heard this before from parents and teachers....get outside and play!  That's how winter plein air painters feel about the snow.  We are excited about the many creative opportunities with the winter landscape.

All are invited to see more than 55 winter plein air paintings at the "Painting the Winter Muse" exhibit.  My painting buddy Lynn Rix and I have been tucking away winter paintings for five seasons to share our enthusiasm for Wisconsin's winter wonderland.

From the Cedarburg Art Museum:  "Two Wisconsin artists embrace the coldest season of the year.  Enticed by the beauty of shapes, colors and atmosphere of the frozen landscape, Lynn Rix and Pamela Ruschman paint Wisconsin en plein air.  All of these paintings have been created outdoors with the artists' boots planted firmly in the snow."

Please join us at the opening reception on Saturday, January 28th from 2-4 pm, Cedarburg Art Museum.

It was an honor to be featured in Outdoor Painter, a national online publication for the plein air enthusiast.  Read about our passion here:

As always, thank you for taking the time to browse my blog.  Happy Winter!

Subject: Call for Art: Statement Juried Show

Hi Artist Friends and Acquaintances,

The next fine arts show I’ll be organizing is taking place in February!

It's a themed show, lasting one week, with an opening reception that will include complimentary punch, a cash bar, and appetizers.  The theme is "STATEMENT: The Message Behind the Art."  We'd love for you to participate and include artist statements to help the viewing audience appreciate the heart/thought/intent behind your work.  You can participate with as little as one entry, or as many as twelve as space allows.

Entry Fee is just $5.  Two $50 Grants will be awarded.  Each artist receives a complimentary drink ticket.

That's the gist of it.  Linked is the full details.

Hope to have your participation!

2017 Richfield Art At the Mill

from:
artfairrhs@gmail.com

Now that the holidays are over, you may be turning your thoughts to your summer schedule (even though the temperature is below zero)! Would you consider applying to exhibit at Art at the Mill? This event has been in existence for 9 years. It is a juried art and fine craft fair scheduled for July 22, 2017. The fair is held outside nestled among the trees and surrounded by historical buildings in the beautiful Richfield Nature/Historical Park (Washington County - Wisconsin).

Amenities for exhibiting artists:
·        Ample space between booths
·        Easy pull-up for unloading
·        Reasonable $55 booth fee (before or on 4-1-17) or $65 (between 4-2-17 and 7-1-2017)
·        Low jury fee of $10 (waived for returning artists)
·        Booth reliever
·        Free coffee/pastries during setup time
·        Tickets for tour of historic buildings located in the park
·        Friendly staff

The quality of our fair is very important. The number of like exhibitors will be limited to assure a good balance and variety.  The quota for jewelry artisans has been reached. Therefore, no applications for jewelry exhibitors are being accepted. For other categories, apply early for your best chance of being selected.

Advertising is also very critical for art fairs.  This event will be widely advertised in print, broadcast & social media and promoted through many local businesses. We want to reach as many potential attendees as possible. Free admission to the fair and the extra benefit of being able to tour historic buildings are attractive factors.

An application form and guidelines are attached and also available at: www.richfieldhistoricalsociety.org. (Home Page under Upcoming Events, July 22, 2017 -- Art at the Mill).  Feel free to call or e-mail with any questions.
