Discovery World looking for Chalk Artist(s) to create Sci-Fi Chalk Art

from: Alyssa Nihart <Anihart@discoveryworld.org>

Hello All-

I am reaching out today regarding an annual event here at Discovery World – Sci-Fi Day! This year, we are looking to up the ante even more by making the event bigger and better! We are looking to have a chalk artist (or group of artists such as yourselves) come in to create a Sci-Fi work of ‘chalk’ art along the beautiful lakefront here at Discovery World! Please see below for our invite to the 2017 event:

It’s time once again to boldly go to Discovery World’s 8th annual Sci-Fi Family Day, a celebration in all things science fiction. This will be a day long remembered, a day where creativity and imagination meet science and costumes galore, and we would love for you to join us by hosting a sci-fi themed interactive booth.
Over the past few years Sci-Fi day has grown exponentially. Last year it grew to one of our highest attendance days of the year with over 30 different vendors, demonstrations and activities from sci-fi enthusiast in the Milwaukee community. This year we are looking to up the ante even more, and we want you to help in continuing this tradition!

The event is scheduled for September 30th, 2017 from 10:00a to 5:00p. Each participant will be provided with one 8’ table and two chairs. If more is needed, please let us know and we can accommodate. You are responsible for your own table coverings. Lunch will be provided. For all cosplayers and costumers, a changing space will also be provided. If you are interested in participating in this epic event, please visit our website and submit the registration form. You will then be contacted by the Museum for confirmation. If you have any additional questions, feel free to email Alyssa Nihart (Special Events Representative) at anihart@discoveryworld.org, or call Ana Minter, the Special Events Manager, at 414-765-8634.

We would be over the moon if you’d like to join us for Sci-Fi Day this September with a demonstration or simply a staffed booth showing all the amazing Sci-Fi work you can do! We would be happy to provide a wristband to the museum and event for yourself as well as all guests you may have. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask as we’d be happy to have you!

Best,

Alyssa Nihart

MSC Exhibit - Drop off Artwork dates 6/19-18

from: artbartkowiak@gmail.com

Don from Art Bar says June 19 and 17 and 18  for drop off of work.  Show is June 23 -July 20.

from: tsheehan@foley.com

Thanks, Art.

Can you tell us please if there are any rules for the submissions?

Is there a limit on the number of pieces?  Max/min size limits?  Framing?  Unframed paper sketches allowed?

Thanks for any further guidance you can provide.

Tim

 From: Arthur Bartkowiak <artbartkowiak@gmail.com>

Same rules as last year, bring as many as you want(within reason) except you bring proper labeling, address, phone, prices with your pieces, we're not burdening Tom with that, it's all on you.  Unframed, framed must have wire hanging on back.  Plain paper sketches will be on magnetic wall.

Still some available booth spaces for Art at the Mill

from: artfairrhs

There are still some available booth spaces for Art at the Mill to be held on July 22, 2017.  Do you still have that date open on your summer schedule? Art at the Mill has been in existence for 9 years. It is a juried art and fine craft fair held outside nestled among the trees and surrounded by historical buildings in the beautiful Richfield Nature/Historical Park (Washington County - Wisconsin).

Amenities for exhibiting artists:
·        Ample space between booths
·        Easy pull-up for unloading
·        Reasonable $65 booth fee
·        Low jury fee of $10 (waived for returning artists)
·        Booth reliever
·        Free coffee/pastries during setup time
·        Tickets for tour of historic buildings located in the park
·        Friendly staff

The quality of our fair is very important. The number of like exhibitors will be limited to assure a good balance and variety.  The quotas for jewelry and wood artisans have been reached. Therefore, no applications for jewelry and woodworking (cutting boards, bowls, etc.) exhibitors are being accepted. All vendor spots are filled.

Advertising is also very critical for art fairs.  This event will be widely advertised in print, online, and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest). Hundreds of fliers will be posted in businesses ranging from West Bend to Cedarburg to Oconomowoc. We want to reach as many potential attendees as possible. Free admission to the fair and the extra benefit of being able to tour historic buildings are attractive incentives for attendees.

An application form and guidelines are attached and can also be found at: www.richfieldhistoricalsociety.org (Home page, left column, scroll down to find the links to the documents). I would love to have you apply to exhibit. The deadline to apply is July 1, 2017.

Feel free to call or e-mail with any questions.
