Wisconsin Pastel Artists - Letter from the president
from: cbehrs
@att.net
Hi All,
Another summer is waining and September is upon us. Good news is we begin to meet again this week Wednesday.
This
meeting will feature a show and tell, with a member critique.
Guidelines for critiquing each others work were sent in a previous
e-mail.
We encourage everyone to participate, especially if
you have your paintings for the Cedarburg Cultural Center show ready. We
would love to have a preview.
Some big things are coming up quickly. As just mentioned, the Cedarburg exhibit is fast approaching and we need to make sure we continue our long string of outstanding exhibits.
A reminder that Cedarburg has become a great arts community and a great place for artists to show and sell their work.
We also have an exciting plein air workshop this month, September 19-20. It is a two day workshop and you can sign up for one or two days.
John Preston is an excellent artist and Lions Den Gorge is an exceptional place to paint.
The
lake views and vistas are breathtaking but the park also features
wetlands, forests, bluffs, and wildflowers. Something for everyone.
See the e-mail from Marcia Gora-Patek on August 16 for all the information.
As
always, we will have a brief business portion at the beginning of the
meeting. We will leave plenty of time for sharing our work.
Unfortunately, I will be absent. I have a new teaching job and this Wednesday is parents night. As a new teacher, I can't miss that.
I do look forward to seeing everyone in October,
Chris

The prospectus was updated in July.
We have developed some rules for the Plein Air event.
A
checklist was developed for people selling in the tents; it includes
some good advice for everyone. Note that for those selling in the
tents, fees are due by August 31.
Mary Prince
-----------------
From: Mary Prince <mary.prince88@yahoo.com>
As our original information stated, you are free to sell your art by signing up for the Gallery Tent.
People on that list should have received a request to send in labeling information for each piece.
There will be blank labels for any plein air paintings going into the tent.
A bit of clarification:
Based on the contract with the County, the Gallery Tent $25 fee creates a PERMIT to sell on County grounds.
You can sell the painting right off the easel, but only if you have paid the Gallery Tent fee.
We are looking into other paperwork, like possible waivers for insurance.
