Richfield Art Fair July 23, 2016

from: artfairrhs
@gmail.com

As you plan your 2016 art fair schedule, I would like to invite you to apply toArt at the Mill.  This is a juried art & fine craft fair to be held on July 23, 2016.  This is the 8th year for this event. The fair is held outside nestled among the trees and surrounded by historical buildings in the beautiful Richfield Nature/Historical Park (Washington County.)

Amenities for exhibiting artists:
  • Ample space between booths
  • Easy pull-up for unloading
  • Reasonable $55 booth fee (before or on 4-1-16) or $65 (between 4-2-16 and 7-1-2016)
  • Low jury fee of $10 (waived for returning artists)
  • Bottled water for each booth (2)
  • Booth reliever
  • Free coffee/pastries during setup time
  • Tickets for historic buildings tour located in the park
  • Friendly staff
The quality of our fair is very important. The number of like exhibitors will be limited to assure a good balance and variety.  (For example, the number of jewelry exhibitors will be capped at seven.  So, apply early for best chance of selection.)

Advertising is also very critical for art fairs.  This event will be widely advertised in print, broadcast & social media and promoted through many local businesses. We want to reach as many potential attendees as possible. Free admission to the fair and the extra benefit of being able to tour historic buildings are attractive factors.

An application form and guidelines are available at: www.richfieldhistoricalsociety.org.
(Home Page under Upcoming Events - 2016 Events - Art at the Mill-Call for Artists.)  Feel free to call or e-mail with any questions.

Milwaukee Sketch Club at Starbucks 11/13/15

Thursday night we decided to urban sketch indoors on Friday due to the very windy weather. Three of us showed up at the Starbucks on Hwy 18 (Moreland Road) in Waukesha across from Fleet Farm. It was a hopping place, lots of people and action. People were real friendly. Nice fireplace.

Next Friday, we are thinking of going to the New Berlin Library at 15105 W Library Ln, New Berlin, WI 53151 (East of Moorland road and south of National Avenue)

Wipapa: Dues are due and other housekeeping

From: WIPAPA <mricl4hlth@gmail.com>

Hello fellow plein air painters!

October is here and with it time to renew your membership (or join if you haven't!) in WIPAPA! If I receive your $$$ before January 1st it's $30...after it's $40. So save yourselves 10 big ones and send it in!!

Item number two: If you are a event director or on a Plein Air competition committee for 2016 I have begun to add your links to the blog! (http://wipapa.blogspot.com/)
So I need this info from you asap. I need it as always to be in the form of a link on your website. Even if it just says "save this date". Keep in mind that many artists must turn in their vacation requests before January 1st so if you wish many artists at your event they need to be able to plan well ahead of time! I know of three brand new events in the works in Wisconsin for next year!

And three! Thank you all for your participation in WIPAPA this year! Every brush stroke counts!

The instigator, Wendie

Wisconsin Pastel Artists' President's letter 10/5/15

from: cbehrs
@att.net

Hi all,

October is here and our exhibit at the Cedarburg Cultural Center is right around the corner.
I am excited to hear we have more than enough work committed to fill both galleries and more. Thank you for making this show a priority.
(as long as you're now in the habit of getting in the studio more often, keep it up!)

I have been a little lax in my duties but I want to commend our board members for their work on this exhibit, the John Preston workshop in September, the meeting planning, and keeping the finances in order.
They have been working tirelessly to keep this organization vibrant and providing opportunities for us to grow and show.
Please thank them for their commitment to the WPA. They are Marcia Gora-Patek (vice president), Carol Chapman (recording secretary and exhibit committee), Judy Grochowski (exhibit committee),
and Debra Patterson (treasurer). Thank you for all your work!

As always, please feel free to contact me with any cares or concerns.
We are always open for suggestions for guest artists, workshops you would be interested in, and any way we can improve the WPA.

Thank you,
Chris
