20th Annual Fall Art Tour Oct 18-20, 10am-6pm daily, Southwestern Wisconsin

The third full weekend each October, some of Wisconsin's best-known artisans open their studios, allowing visitors a unique, behind-the-scenes view into how their work is created.
Known as the Fall Art Tour, each year it draws visitors from all over the country to artists' studios tucked away in the scenic hills in and around Wisconsin's art communities of Baraboo, Spring Green, Dodgeville, and Mineral Point.
During the three-day tour, artists will be in their studios, demonstrating and selling their work. These artisans include painters, sculptors, potters, weavers, jewelers, woodworkers, mixed-media artists, and more.
Many of these studios are open only for this event, providing a unique opportunity to meet the artists and purchase their work. So join us on a drive through the autumn countryside during this once-a-year event that includes a rare glimpse into the restored breweries, one-room schoolhouses, and historic storefronts where some of Wisconsin's best-known artists work.

Opportunity for Mukwonago's great Fall Fest - Sept 28, 2013

From: James Mac Donald <macdonaj28@gmail.com>

Hello fellow artists, photographers and multimedia artisans!

Thanks to those artists who are now registered and paid for this year's Mukwonago Chamber/ Tourism "Fall Fest 2013", to be held on Saturday, Sept. 28th from 10-4 in the center of Mukwonago!! Due to some sweet negotiating, we may have some new booth spaces left in our prime arts tunnel area!!

The Chamber and community have rallied hard to make this a BIG event...and marketing heavily to draw large crowds.

With live music, great food, petting zoo, bounce houses, train rides, vendors, farmers market, refreshments, chili cook-off, pumpkin decorating, scarecrow building, wine tasting and lots more...this will be HUGE!

And our "Arts Tunnel" is on a choice spot in the center of town on one of the few blocked off avenues where all visitors will travel through. We will be 'flanked on the end' by an area where our two popular local Dance Groups will perform from 1-3pm attracting more families as well.

After meeting with the Chamber, I was able to negotiate more space for us arts folks.

SO if YOU want to display, get noticed and SELL your work., I need to know right away. It will be first come-first served. If you cannot do this, please share with other artists, friends, etc., as this is a prime opportunity to show, sell and network at an event with huge traffic potential.

Have attached the application. Our goal is to offer inexpensive options for aspiring artists, etc. to have a venue to exhibit.

NOTE: The Mukwonago Chamber requires $50 per 10'x10' booth for members, and $75 for non-members for all vendors. See the attachment for our affordable fees for artists. This community and incoming visitors love the arts!! Bring it on!!

Please let me know asap, or better yet- send the attached application and check and we will add you to the great "Arts Tunnel at Fall Fest 2013!"

Best regards and creative futures...

Milwaukee Sketch Club at McKinley Marina 8/13/13

Nice evening. Always a lot to paint here. We ended up painting on the south side of the marina but pictures are of the entire area except the playground to the north. Got to listen to a drum band playing in the pavilion. Light was variable due to partly cloudy conditions and approaching sunset.

It was a beautiful summer morning with very changeable lighting.

WIPAPA: Lake Geneva Opportunity

from: WIPAPA mricl4hlth@aol.com via mail79.atl11.rsgsv.net

Lake Geneva needs 3 more artists for this:

On Saturday Sept 28th The Wood Boat Foundation of America-Blackhawk Chapter will hold their Annual Convention at the beautiful Abbey Resort on lake Geneva in the village of Fontana.
There is a $50. stipend for each artist to cover gas and lunch. During the Cocktail Reception artists will show their work for auction with a 50/50 split for the artist and the WB Foundation for their scholarships and the Water Safety Patrol and Lake Geneva Conservancy also benefiting.
The Abbey Harbor which will be the painting location has lots of tall trees and good shade. This event attracts many wooden boat lovers and is a unique event to be able to paint little seen vintage restored boats.

Call Nancy Newcomb 262-248-6344 if interested.

The "theme" of the day is the painting by Renoir "THE BOATING PARTY" I AM GOING TO TRY TO DRESS AS A CHARACTER IN THAT PAINTING- I usually look like one anyway-baggy clothes and a big big straw hat!

Thanks,  Nancy Newcomb THE TREES STUDIO
