We had a good time, the gardens were beautiful and the people were very friendly.

A couple of us made it to Waukesha's Riverwalk yesterday morning. Perfect weather. Breezy, warm but not too hot in the shade of some handy trees. River is really flooded.

This new development in the heart of Milwaukee’s eastside business district will replace the current 1968 structure with a new library that incorporates the best of 21st Century library design. Located within a community that values its public library, public art is an important element in this project and the Library is seeking Wisconsin artists who have the experience and ability to create site‐specific public art, in collaboration with the project team, which reflects the unique history and culture of the neighborhood. The Milwaukee Public Library is seeking two artists to create works that will be incorporated into the interior of the library.       "Chewy" Artist: Ryan Carter  Method: Adobe Illustrator "Chewy" was created for a team of friends participating in the 2013 Rickshaw Run in India. Participants from all over the world hand decorated rickshaws from the southern tip of India through the Himilayas, to the northern tip of India. The proceeds went to benefit Frank Water and Elizabeth Glazer foundations.  Art Shay: The Sport Life & Times Art Exhibit  Join Hanson and Dodge Creative on Monday, June 20th in welcoming Art Shay, 91, one of the most iconic photojournalists of the last five decades, to Milwaukee. A former photographer for Life, Times, Sports Illustrated and other national publications- and author of more than 70 books- Shay has captured some of the world's most memorable moments in sports and culture. The exhibit will be held at Hanson and Dodge Creative, 220 E. Buffalo Street, at 5pm on June 20th.   A Weekend of Music    With summer comes an event every day of the week. Next weekend has no shortage of them. Call it a 3 day music fest all around the city. Spectacular Sculpture near Monches Farm

Less than 5 miles from Monches Farm you'll find a one-of-a-kind outdoor sculpture gallery of impressive proportions. Artist Paul Bobrowitz has been creating metal art for over two decades.  Many of you, approaching the Farm from the west, have probably seen his hand painted "Spectacular Sculpture" signs along the roadways. Next time you're making a trip this way plan a visit to his place, which is open dawn to dusk every day. His sculptures are included in a number of prominent public and private collections and he has been the recipient of several prestigious art awards dating back to 1994. Directions from Monches Farm: Turn right out of our driveway. At the first stop sign turn left (East) on County Line Road ("Q"). Take the second right onto Dieball Road. Collaborative Art Brightening the Milwaukee Streets With buckets of bright-colored paint and wide paintbrushes, dozens of volunteers took to the street Sunday and created a work of art out of an otherwise dark city intersection below a wide and low railroad viaduct. Called "A Common Denominator," the graphic painting, made by local artists, neighbors and inmates, among others, brings a cheery choo-choo train to the corner of W. Fond du Lac Ave. and W. Locust St. The making of the artwork begins a yearlong temporary public art initiative along 20 blocks of Fond du Lac Ave., between N. 17th and 37th streets, that will feature the work of nine artists. It is also the first public artwork by one of Milwaukee's more widely known artists, Reginald Baylor. An opening celebration for "Art on Fond du Lac" will be held June 29.
