Chilin' on the Avenue - Plein Air Opportunity

The Martini Girls are inviting all plein air artists to come paint at Chilin' on the Avenue. Sat. July 23, 2011, 10am-5pm, on North Ave between 60th and 72nd streets. Set up your easel anywhere within that area, and bring a few extra pieces to sell off your easel! No cost, just fun to get out and paint at a wonderful event!

This event is also open to artists who want to set up a tent/booth. Spaces are $50 each, and you may contact the Tosa East Town Business Association if you have questions.

Our upcoming event is “Art in the Park” in August, which winds through the park. We hope to have many more artists this year. I believe last year there were about just under 30 artists. Member ship is $35 per year, there is a $40 deposit for members which will be returned at the event and forfeited if artist doesn’t show up.

This year we are inviting artists from outside The Art Guild to join us, they can sign up as members, or non-member participation is a non-refundable $40 per booth space.

Plein Air artists coming to Riveredge

Cedarburg Plein Air Painting Competition at Riveredge Nature Center 4458 Co Rd Y, Saukville, WI

DescriptionThis year, artists participating in the Cedarburg Plein Air Painting Competition will have the opportunity to paint at Riveredge. And, you have the opportunity to come out and observe as they paint and purchase art featuring Riveredge’s beautiful landscape. Artists will be painting on June 15, from 8am until 6pm, and the paintings will remain on exhibit at Riveredge through June 22. They will then be taken to the Cedarburg Cultural Center where they will be available for purchase as part of the Plein Air Competition silent auction on June 24 and 25. Saturdays in June I am just offering an outdoor plein air painting workshop on June 11th due a busy plein air schedule. More details about this workshop will be sent in a separate e-mail.

Additional Information:

-I demonstrate in various media Tuesday & Wednesday mornings at 9AM. These demos are free for all enrolled students who wish to attend, regardless of your class time.

-Choose to work at your own pace in any variety of drawing or painting media with personalized instruction.

-Tuition is $90 for a session of three classes, $120 for a four class session. Attend as many of the free demos before class as you like.

-You may make up any missed classes at any other class time or carry them over into the next session. Classes are generally held weekly - year round.

-Open to all skill levels and ages 12 and up.
