Milwaukee Sketch Club at Kletzsch Park (Tues 7/20/10)

Water is a lot higher, about 2/3 higher than last year.

Milwaukee Sketch Club at Holy Hill (Sat morning 7/17/10)

It's best to get here early. After 11am the people start coming to visit. There's a large patio where you can overlook the valley or if you want to go higher there are narrow stairs leading to the top.

Milwaukee Sketch Club at Mckinley Marina (Tues eve 7/13/10)

The reflections were very beautiful.

Milwaukee Sketch Club at Miller Park Hank Aaron Trail, Tues morning 7/13/10

We met in the small parking lot above the Miller Parking lot & Klement Sausage Haus. We could have parked in the Eucker or Yount parking lot to access the Hank Aaron Trail also. Another beautiful day. A lot of flowers.

Milwaukee Sketch Club at Whitnal Park (Saturday, July 10, 2010)

We met in the parking lot on the east side of Mallard Lake. Mosquitoes were quite ferocious so we painted in the parking lot instead of down by Mallard Lake and the waterfalls. The weather was very comfortable.

The Coalition of Photgraphic Arts Summer Exhibition 6/4-7/30,2010

Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts
19805 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI

Artists' Reception July 8, 5:30-7:30pm

Milwaukee Sketch Club at Barnacle Buds

Even though it was in the 80's and humid, we were nice and cool sitting on Barnacle Buds dock. You can eat outside there. A bit difficult to find because they are hidden back in a warehouse complex at the end of Marina Drive. There's directions on their website. http://www.barnacle-buds.com/ . However, here are some directions using landmarks:
  • Head North on KK from the intersection of Beecher & Bay street which has a traffic light.
  • Make a right at the Rock Island condo that looks like it used to be a station. I think this might be Stewart Street and head East.
  • Go past Hilbert St, then Allis St and make a Left (go south) on Marina drive (The road ends, you have to go Left)
  • You will immediately cross railroad tracks. Go to the end of the road and you will see a heavy yellow metal gate.
  • Turn Left into warehouse complex. If your eyes are sharp you will see a small sign on the north side of the first building on the left that says Barnacle Buds Service Center.
  • Look pretty far ahead & to your right. There is a tall chain link fence. That is Barnacle Buds restaurant. When you get closer you will see an orange Barnacle Buds sign on the fence. You can park next to the fence or next to the building across from the fence.

Milwaukee Sketch Club at Marquette Joan D'Arc Chapel

Very interesting lighting. Lot of beautiful gardens and flowers. Most lots cost $5 for parking, although I did find some limited 2 hour parking on 13 st. The chapel is located about 1 block south & west into the campus from 14th & Wisconsin.

Milwaukee Sketch Club at Juneau Park

Photos from 6/29/10. It was a partly cloudy/sunny day. Around 70F. Very comfortable. Very interesting shadows. There is free 2 hour parking. You can paint the overlook to the lake and Milwaukee Art Museum. There's Juneau's cabin, statues, residential views and downtown views.

Milwaukee Sketch Club at Harley Davidson Museum

Some pictures from 6/15/10. It was overcast but didn't rain. Baby seagulls were nesting on pilings. Lots of flowers. The museum is bordered on 3 sides with water so there are bridges, boats and reflections of buildings in the water. There was ample parking even though there was a car show scheduled for that night.
