Upcoming Milwaukee Sketch Club Cedarburg covered bridge Plein Air Outing this Saturday 6/27

Hello All

This Saturday we will be meeting at Cedarburg Covered Bridge.

Joyce's directions going north on 43 to Cedarburg are:
Take Hwy 60 west off of 43 you will come to five corners on the north side of Cedarburg. You take a sharp right onto Covered Bridge Road and it is just a short distance. There is a little park with parking just before the bridge to the right. When I was there the park had a couple of picnic benches and you get a good view of the bridge and water.

Milwaukee Sketch Club at Hoyt Park

Hoyt Park was the perfect place to be on a hot muggy day. Well shaded with mature trees, cool and with a slight breeze. We sat on and underneath the stone bridge going across the Menomonee River. No bugs since it is still early in the season. This would be a good place to go later in the day because there is a path that goes along the south side of the river all the way to the rapids. Pictures from Margo & Kathy.

See http://www.friendsofhoytpark.org/ for more info on this park.

Milwaukee Sketch Club's Wednesday's Plein Air Outing

It was very misty, atmospheric and cool Wednesday morning, so after meeting just outside the War Memorial Parking lot, we decided to go somewhere where there was some cover. We ended up parking at the McKinely Marina, a-f slips area near the Milwaukee Yacht club. There was a building with benches, a nice overhang with a good view of the boats and a lot of nice reflections. Margo & I took a walk to the end of the breakwater walkway too. There were some people fishing too and cleaning their boats.

Stage Coach Inn Plein Air

It was a great day to paint outdoors on Wednesday; sunny, not too warm and not too windy. We found each other easily at the Stage Coach Inn located in Brookfield, Wisconsin, http://www.elmbrookhistoricalsociety.org/ . Lot of interesting things to paint and sketch such as a round smoke house, black smith shop, icehouse, gardens, flowers, trees.... and everyone had a good time. Here's some pictures that Marie & Margo took.

Next plein air outing is this Saturday at McKinley Marina http://milwaukeemarina.com/ . See you there!
